Are you getting enough physical activity in your day-to-day life? Everyone can benefit from being more active in their day to day lives. Exercise and staying fit helps the brain release powerful chemical endorphins, which can help you literally feel better and have a better quality of life.
When you are more active, you are naturally more successful.....because everything in life flows more smoothly when you are healthy and vibrant.
When you are more active, you live longer and you live stronger. Being more active has many benefits from helping you control your weight, to lowering your risk of illness and disease to strengthening your bones and muscles. The bottom line is that becoming more active and increasing your physical activity can help you live a better life.
Experts agree that exercising consistently is a habit that can be learned, and once you make it a habit, it is much easier to follow through.
When you work out on a consistent basis, you boost your brainpower and you enjoy more mental acuity. Studies have even shown that those who work out in the morning are much more productive throughout the day. Exercising helps cut down on stress, it strengthens the heart, and can even help build a healthier immune system. Exercising also increases your endorphins or your body's feels good chemicals so it can even help you feel more upbeat and positive.
How Much Exercise Do You Need?
According to the Mayo Clinic, you should aim for at least 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous. You can also aim for a mix of moderate versus vigorous activity, spreading your exercise out throughout your week.
Mix in some strength training two or three times a week and you have the perfect recipe for fitness success. As a good rule of thumb, you should try and get at least 30 minutes of physical activity each and every day, if not more. If you feel so inclined, try and ramp up your efforts to 300 minutes a week, and you can increase weight loss and enjoy more health benefits.
Many people struggle trying to fit in physical fitness, but there are other ways to get fit rather than working out at the gym.
Some fun and creative ways to get fit are:
- Bouncing on a mini-trampoline
- Rock climbing
- Taking a walk at lunch
- Swimming or playing tennis
- Doing yoga or Tai-Chi
- Bowling
- Playing sports
- Joining a walking club
If you don't have 30 minutes to work out during the day, you can try breaking your fitness routine into several 10-minute sessions. Using a pedometer or fitness tracker is also a great idea and many experts agree that aiming for 10,000 steps is a great goal.
Increasing your fitness level by incorporating walking into your daily routine can not only help you live a healthier life, it can help you lose weight and overcome health challenges.
