Astrological Shopping Guide for Late November
Posted by Elizabeth Hazel on 20th Nov 2015
The anticipation of holiday shopping heightens as November winds to a close. In the United States the hottest shopping day of the year is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Shops and stores offer a red-carpet of specials and sales to attract gift-buyers. This is followed by Cyber Monday, the largest internet shopping day of the year.
Here’s a day-by-day astrological playbook for shoppers through the final weekend of November.
Wednesday, November 25: Full Moon in Gemini. Gemini is a sign of young people, communication, messages, commercial exchanges, and heightened traffic. People are out, on the road to visit, shop, celebrate the holiday, and attend major sports events. College students return home to eat and probably to do piles of laundry. This Full Moon kicks off a fast-paced weekend.
Thursday, November 26: Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States. The Moon remains in Gemini and continues the heightened movement of people from place to place. The Moon makes several aspects; people are busy talking, traveling, watching parades and sports on television. Lots of advertisements will be visible on TV, in newspapers, and on the internet. Some shoppers will gear up for Black Friday by combing through ads and special offers.
Friday, November 27: This is Black Friday. The Moon enters Cancer before dawn but makes no aspects today. Cancer rules family life, filial connections, domesticity, and nurturing. The Crab travels with its crustacean shell-home on its back. It scuttles from side to side as it makes its way to a destination. This will be typical of the movement of eager shoppers scurrying back-and-forth from store to store hunting for bargains. People haul packages and bags full of goodies in their cars (think of the Crab’s shell) as they drive around shopping complexes and cities looking for the best deals they can get. Cancer is a water sign and money flows, but people will stick to their budgets. The Crab is a careful and conservative sign.
Saturday, November 28: The Cancer Moon engages in aspects with several planets during the day. There’s a greater sense of urgency in the afternoon as supplies of sales items dwindle. Hard-used equipment (cash registers, credit card swipers) may falter toward late afternoon, along with exhausted sales people and cashiers. If today’s plans include shopping expeditions, go during the morning hours and get home by mid-afternoon.
Sunday, November 29: The Moon goes void-of-course early in the morning and remains void until the evening. Follow through on plans made in advance but try not to stray off course. The Sun is conjunct Saturn and square Neptune. This brings limitations and uncertainties. Some goods may be completely gone; items may not be priced correctly or have missing price tags. Its inadvisable to purchase appliances and electronics during a void Moon. Overall this isn’t a good shopping day. People will walk away from things that are perplexing as the Sun-Saturn aspect encourages people to keep their money in their wallets if the deal doesn’t look good, or if what’s sought can’t be found.
Monday, November 30: This is Cyber Monday. The Moon enters Leo on Sunday evening. She’s fired up with aspects to Saturn and the Sun after sunrise and emboldened by a sextile to Mars in the afternoon. Where a Cancer Moon tends to be careful with money, a Leo Moon loves to spend it! This may be a record-breaking day for retail and internet sales. The action will probably spill over into Tuesday. The Sun and Saturn are still in close proximity so people will be very specific about the items they are seeking. Nevertheless, there’s a buoyant feeling of good-will and generosity that pervades the day, along with the excitement of Mercury applying to trine Uranus on Tuesday. Both of these planets are associated with computers, the internet, and commerce. Internet vendors should expect a huge boom in sales this week.
