Financial Astrology: Saturn and Your Financial Astrology
Posted by Victoria Reinertsdatter on 24th Oct 2016
I have mentioned that apart from love, money is one area that I often get asked about. Pretty much any astrologer you know will tell you, “That’s what people really want to know about.” Love and money, right? However, all of these things have little offshoots- you know, in love, people want to know about romance, they want to know about marital prospects, things like that. In money, they often want to know about luck, and, whenever anyone’s talking about luck on a basic level, they’ll look at Jupiter. Being as it is the planet of expansion, that really makes a lot of sense except there’s another planet one should look for in terms of money that often gets a very bad rap. Saturn.
Of course, many people think of Saturn in terms
of money, but it’s usually in the context of how hard a person works,
how disciplined they are- and not luck. Why on earth would Saturn indicate
anything to do with luck? Well, Saturn isn’t just about discipline, and it’s
not just about structure: nor is it- or any other planet, for that matter, good
or bad. Saturn, however, is also known as The Lord of Karma.
I think this sort of becomes a misnomer
not because it isn’t the Lord of Karma, but more because people don’t really understand how karma actually works. Rather than going into a
lengthy discussion of what karma is in this article, you have to understand
that it’s really about an underlying factor of cause and effect, sometimes in
the here and now, sometimes, not so much. All too often, when people think of
luck, they’re also imagining something
that happens for no reason and with no cost when this isn’t true, either. There
is always some effort behind everything, always some price paid, and that is
very much Saturn’s purview. Beyond that, while Jupiter might bring you some
luck and Uranus can as well, Saturn’s good fortune tends to be much more
lasting. These other planets might bring luck, but if the Saturn isn’t right,
you won’t keep it, or make the most of it.
When we’re looking at a chart to determine someone’s luck or when we’re getting
into financial astrology, it’s important to note the aspects that are formed with Saturn and other planets. This can certainly show where there might be
results, where businesses will fail even if they look brilliant from the outset,
and it can also give us a good look at what kind of issues we might see, as
well as any setbacks.
Saturn spends roughly two and a half years in each sign, making its trip
through the entire zodiac about a 30-year
stretch. In our personal lives, we can look at Saturn returns to know when
we’re going to experience issues there- and oh, it’s pretty rough. I think a
lot of people cringe when there’s talk of Saturn Returns and with good reason:
they can be pretty gnarly. The same can be said of businesses, because when you
look at the sign Saturn is presently in,
you can look at what businesses are going to be
hit with all manner of issues that show the need for change- and discern
what complications might arise. However, just like a Saturn return on a personal
level, those businesses that do not fold and who do change up the way they do
things usually come out better than they were before.
If you do find that you have issues with making your luck
stick or if you just seem to be consistently stuck when it comes to business,
it may be a good idea to pay attention to where Saturn is in terms of your finances. In addition to that,
you will also want to check out the transits at play, then take a look at those
planets making aspects to Saturn to figure out where you need to rework a few
things to get yourself on better footing.
