Are you tired of setting of New Year's Resolutions that always seem to let you down? There is a better way to set New Year's resolutions and it might even be fun. We all have good intentions, but many of us tend to forget about resolutions once the holidays are a distant memory.

New Year's Goals for 2016

One thing is for certain - a journey without a destination is a pointless and aimless journey. The best thing you can do if you want to set achievable resolutions is to focus on one very specific and very desirable goal.

As you think about your life, start to focus on those areas that need the most improvement. We all have one area of our life that we always seem to be working on. For some, it might be health and wellness while someone else may be lacking in financial security. Try and focus on a goal that would make the biggest difference in your life, if you were to achieve it.

Goals can sometimes act as a tipping point per se because sometimes making one small improvement in one area of life, can cause all the other areas of life to shift and move just like the infamous "Butterfly Effect". One of the biggest mistakes we typically make, when it comes to resolutions, is making way too many.

It's better to have one small goal and to achieve it than to set ten large goals that may be out of your reach. You can even close your eyes and imagine you have already achieved this goal. Try imagining a timeline stretched out in front of you and literally close your eyes and float up over the line and take yourself out to a point in the future.

See yourself acting and behaving as if you had already achieved this goal. Notice what else has changed in your life as a result. Try and focus on something that will allow everything else to shift and move and make sure it is a goal you feel truly passionate about.

If you desire a loving intimate relationship, for example, close your eyes and act as if you already have that relationship. Better yet, try and view yourself from an outside perspective and ask yourself if you portray yourself in a loving and open manner. Ask yourself if you would be attracted to you if you ran into yourself on the street. If you don't like what you see, try and become the very person you want to attract and you will begin to resonate at a different energetic frequency. This may sound strange, but it's a great tip - because there may be things you may be subconsciously doing that are turning people away.

If you want more vibrant health, see yourself in that state of vibrant health, and take the time every day to visualize yourself healthy and active. You can do the same thing with any goal.

Setting smaller, more achievable goals is a great way to overcome them, little by little. Let's say you have a goal to write a book. If this is something you have always wanted to do, it's a great goal for you. The hardest part about writing a book is actually starting the book so make a goal for yourself to create an outline for your book by February 1st as an example. After you achieve that goal, you can them commit to writing one chapter per week or month. Setting these types of smaller goals, make it much easier to achieve them in the long run.

One of the most important tips you should try and follow is to set a goal you feel absolutely passionate about. Don't let other people rain on your parade either. If you don't think someone will support you, then keep your goal to yourself.

Take the time to create one important soul filling goal or resolution and take that time every day to close your eyes and visualize it and you will achieve your goal in no time flat.

Don't rush this process either, take some time to really think about the one thing, that if changed, would make the biggest impact in your life. Follow this process, and your life will start moving in a more positive direction in no time at all.
